FAQs

  • What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and what support feels most helpful for you right now. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out — we’ll take it step by step, at your pace. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the start.

  • Do you offer virtual/telehealth sessions?

Yes! All sessions are offered via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. You can join from your phone, tablet, or computer — from anywhere in North Carolina or South Carolina. Many clients love the convenience, privacy, and comfort of meeting from home.

  • How much does therapy cost?

I believe high-quality therapy should be accessible, not stressful. My fees are:

    Individual Counseling: $50–$90

    Couples Counseling: $75–$130

    No-Show/Late Cancel: Cost of session

You’ll receive a Good Faith Estimate and all pricing is fully transparent. I never want cost to be a barrier — reach out if you have questions.

  • Do you take insurance?

Yes! I accept insurance, but all clients must register through SonderMind, a secure platform that handles insurance verification and billing. SonderMind makes it simple — they confirm your benefits, submit claims on your behalf, and handle the paperwork so you can focus on your sessions.

Using SonderMind ensures your therapy is covered according to your plan while keeping the process straightforward and stress-free. If you have questions about whether your insurance will work with SonderMind, feel free to reach out — I’m happy to guide you through it.

  • How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?

Finding the right fit matters. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth — and I focus on helping you feel safe, understood, and supported. If you want affordable care, a welcoming space, and real conversation (not cold or clinical), we might be a great match. You’re welcome to reach out with questions before scheduling or take advantage of the free 15-minute consultation.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

The easiest way to get started is to contact me directly. Everyone’s situation is a little different, and I can help you choose the best scheduling route — whether it’s through Open Path, SonderMind (for insurance billing), or booking directly with me.

Once we determine the right path for you, I’ll guide you step by step so getting started feels simple and stress-free.

  • Do you offer Christian counseling?

Yes. For clients who prefer a faith-based lens, I offer Christian counseling and can integrate spirituality into our work together. It’s always optional and tailored to your comfort level.

  • How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes, giving us plenty of time to talk through what’s going on, set goals, and make meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies for each person or couple. Some people come for a short-term boost, while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll work together to create a plan that fits your goals, pace, and comfort level — no pressure and no one-size-fits-all approach.
